Thank you for visiting our website. The purpose of this note is to briefly explain the current position at Home Property Lawyers.
Over the last 12 months, the housing market has been unexpectedly buoyant taking the Conveyancing profession by surprise. There was a belief that it was temporary due to the Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) holiday which was due to end 31 March 2021. But when that was extended, the housing market continued to be very active.
Consequently, we are receiving a high volume of emails and calls and we can’t always respond promptly. For the last 12 months everyone at Home Property Lawyers has been working hard and long hours under a lot of pressure to help our clients. As well as the work we do, we are dependent on lots of other people in a transaction, e.g. Local Authorities, other Conveyancing firms, lenders and surveyors, all of whom are equally as busy.
Moving home can be stressful and it is the same for our staff who look after our clients ensuring everything proceeds as smoothly and as safely as possible. Everyone at Home Property Lawyers cares about our clients and nothing gives us greater pleasure than telling clients they have exchanged, and we’ve arranged a completion date.
Thank you for your patience, please be reassured that we are all working hard to make sure that your transaction proceeds as smoothly as possible. However, we cannot guarantee meeting SDLT holiday deadlines. Also, please note, it is highly unlikely that recent instructions received, and any new instructions will be completed in time to benefit from SDLT savings which cease 30 June 2021.
