What do you do at Home Property Lawyers?
I deal with an array of Residential Conveyancing matters. These include sales and purchases of both Freehold and Leasehold properties (including new builds and transactions involving Help to Buy equity mortgages), re-mortgages and transfers of equity.
What’s your career background?
Having graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2011 with a BSc (Hons) degree in Chemistry I returned to Lincolnshire and joined the firm, firstly working in an administration role. I then became an assistant to one of the firm’s most experienced conveyancers and ultimately, via the firm’s “fast-track programme” I trained as a Conveyancing Executive, a position I have held for some years now. I am currently studying towards the Licensed Conveyancer qualification.
My father was unwell and I therefore needed to return to Lincolnshire as soon as possible after university had finished. My best friend from school had joined the firm from university and made me aware there was a position available, so I applied. He and I both still work here.
The law has always interested me so it was an enticing thought. I’ve not looked back since!
What do you love about working at Home Property Lawyers?
The work itself is very interesting and there is no better feeling than getting clients “over the line” in a transaction as the process of moving is extremely stressful; if I can alleviate that stress a little bit then that makes me happy.
Within the office itself I’d have to say my colleagues/friends in the office are the highlight for me. It’s a great atmosphere to work in.
I found the service provided by HPL to be excellent. In particular, Lucy Read and Craig Dickson were outstanding. Nothing was ever too much trouble and they kept me fully informed throughout the process. I shall definitely recommend their services in the future.
